Valemount Conditions

After quite a long, and brutally cold dry spell, it looks like our weather may be changing here over the next few days. To what extent or extreme, no one really knows. We have upwards of 30cm forecasted to hit the valley by Saturday and then what looks to be above zero temperatures called for early next week. Strange winter for sure.

Riding has been okay, although we are quite desperate for this reload. Snowflakes have begun to fall and all I can do is look out the window with everything crossed that we will get the amounts that are called for. Don’t get me wrong, its certainly not all doom and gloom everywhere and there is still some great ripping out there, but one needs experience with the area and most importantly, you need to know how to turn left where others turn right!

VARDA is holding an Avalanche Awareness evening on Thursday Feb 16th that is open to everyone.  Access is by donation and there will be draws, prizes and 50/50 as we hope to fund raise for the Al Hodgson Memorial Fund which helps snowmobilers with avalanche education.
