2024 Lynx Shredder Lineup

The deep snow Lynx sleds were massively overhauled for model year 2023, so we didn’t have high hopes that the Finnish snowmobile manufacturer would reveal much in the way of new technology for the model year 2024 Lynx Shredder sleds. This turns out to be mostly the case, with a couple of exceptions.

With a fresh new platform and manufacturing still working out some minor supply and delivery kinks post-pandemic, it seems like a reasonable approach to take a year off to play catch up and allow more time for North American snowmobilers to see and experience what the Lynx Shredder deep snow sleds are capable of.

That said, there are a few additions and changes to the Shredder lineup for 2024 Lynx snowmobiles, so let’s check that out!

2024 Lynx Shredder Deep Snow Snowmobiles

For those unfamiliar with the MY23 Lynx release, basically in the mountain segment there are two models: Shredder RE and Shredder DS.

These share the all features and benefits of the narrow and lightweight Lynx Radien2 platform including the impressively smooth PPS2 DS+ rear suspension that in our experience just absolutely glides over bumps and hits.

Comparatively, the Shredder DS and RE models differ primarily in their unique shocks package offering, but also by way of some more subtle configuration options.

2024 Lynx Shredder DS

Shredder DS is the Lynx all-round deep snow slaying machine.

New for MY2024 is a narrowing of the LFS front suspension from a 36″ ski stance to a 34″ stance. This is a change that we embrace wholeheartedly, which will greatly boost the sled’s agility and predictability in a wide variety of snow conditions.

The narrower 34″ ski stance on the 2024 Shredder DS will improve tip up and make good sidehill control require a little less effort.

The Shredder DS will otherwise carry over the same set of features and specifications from MY23. It’s available only with the 850 E-TEC TurboR engine, in two track lengths: 3900 (154″) and 4100 (165″).

2024 Lynx Shredder RE

The Lynx Shredder RE is tailored for the hard-charging rider who wants no compromise. It’s designed to be tough, highlighted by a package of super capable and easily adjustable shocks for the rider who tends to test the limits of their suspension set up.

The Lynx Shredder RE is the model of choice for riders like Andreas Bergmark, who like to push the freeriding capability of their sleds.

The highlight is the very robust shocks package that features easy, 3-position adjustability all the way around. Up front are KYB Pro 36 EA-3 R Kashima shocks. The rear suspension uses a massive KYB 46 Plus Kashima center shock and a KYB 46 HLCR Kashima rear shock with high and low compression damping and rebound damping adjustability.

Like the DS, the 2024 Lynx Shredder RE brings some small changes for the next model year.

First up, the Shredder RE will be available for the first time in North America in a 3700 (146″) model with E-TEC TurboR, for riders who crave the ultimate freeriding experience. Talk about a crazy configuration! We can’t wait to give one of these a go.

The second change is a new option of a Platinum Silver Satin/Black colourway for Shredder RE 3700 (146″) and 3900 (154″) sleds with the E-TEC TurboR option only. We’re not sure why Lynx chose to limit the black option to the TurboR sleds, but it will be a quick way to identify those out on the mountain!

So not a lot of changes to the 2024 Lynx mountain snowmobile lineup, but some noteworthy ones nonetheless.

The likely goal for Lynx moving forward we suspect will be to get more North American riders familiar with their offerings and what they are capable of, as they continue to move into the deep snow market this side of the Atlantic.
