Revelstoke, BC
Revelstoke is probably the most well-known destination in the world for mountain sledding, and for good reason. Sandwiched between the Selkirk and Monashee mountain ranges, it offers a convenient launching pad for a wide variety of epic riding terrain within easy striking distance of town.
But it’s probably the steady dumps of deep and dry snow that keep bringing sledders back for more. Wet weather moving in from the coast smashes into the high elevation peaks here, knocking ridiculous amounts of fluffy powder out of the sky on a regular basis. Most visiting riders stick to the managed and groomed zones—Boulder and Frisby—but Revy has more than its fair share of other riding areas just begging to be explored. All you need is some gumption and a little know-how.
The town itself is well setup to handle out-of-town sledders with a wide variety of amenities to suit your needs. You can get everything you’d ever want for a successful trip here. However, with the ski season also in full swing, sometimes it’s a good idea to book your accommodation in advance. Then get settled in, you’re going to want to stay awhile.
