Elk Valley Snow Avalanche Workshop Nov 10, 2018
Fernie, BC will play host to the first ever Elk Valley Snow Avalanche Workshop (EVSAW) at Traynor Hall on November 10, 2018. The event welcomes both avalanche professionals and recreationalists for a day of collective discussion and engaging presentations on a variety of winter backcountry topics. Vendors and operators will also be on hand to demonstrate the latest in equipment and services to members of the public.

The seminar serves as a lead-in for the bi-annual International Snow Science Workshop (ISSW) taking place in Fernie, October 4-9, 2020. Fernie will find itself in the world spotlight as over 1000 snow science researchers and practitioners from across the globe unite for seven days to share experiences and ideas, merging theory and practice.

Tickets for EVSAW are by advanced sales only, with limited seats available. Lunch and coffee will be on-hand for purchase. An apres-social at the Cast Iron Grill, located at the Fernie Golf Club, will provide opportunities to meet new backcountry partners and network with professionals in the snow safety industry.
