Another successful weekend of snowmobile and snowbike hillclimb action at Vernon’s SilverStar Mountain Resort is in the books for 2017. The annual event took place Easter weekend, April 14-16.
Snow conditions were the best they’ve been in the 3 years of the event, and the sun came out at times to help make a spectacular weekend of hillclimb racing.

The action started out Friday night, with a Head-to-Head Dash for Cash event in which racers raced two at a time up the course under the lights. There was also a rider welcome event and mechanical bullrides scheduled for entertainment.
The main Hillclimb 2017 event kicked off Saturday with qualifying for the racers. To keep the crowds entertained between races, SilverStar had food venues, beer gardens and live music on hand. Spectators could ride the Summit Chair during the races for a bird’s-eye view of the course. Hillclimb 2017 was a family-friend event, and even the kids got in on the action with their very own race around the village area.
On Sunday was the finals races, followed up by awards event.
The Easter Bunny even made a special appearance via helicopter to drop off some tasty Easter eggs for the kids (and a few racers)…
