New snow after a dry spell…
We’ve had cold clear nights for a few weeks now and although we have had a few days of light wind we are still seeing surface hoar especially on protected northerly aspects. The South facing aspects have been baked by the sun and have formed a solid sun crust (melt / freeze). Both layers are dangerous as the snow begins go build on top. As the new layer begins to build mass we need to keep reminding ourselves of what is underneath!
Keep an eye on your bullitens and PLEASE keep reminding yourselves that it’s about to get touchy out there.
Thanks everyone!! Have fun be safe and slay some fresh snow!!
