Spring = more accessibility
This time of year is amazing for sledders there is no question and with the snow pack setting up we are able to go deeper and deeper into terrain we weren’t able to access all season. But this new terrain we are accessing might not be vacant land. There are other operations out there that might be using this terrain commercially and although there is no law keeping us out, many of our local clubs have “gentleman’s agreement” with the heli-ski companies for us to stay out until certain dates. If you are unsure, contact your local clubs and find out when the dates are. Easter long weekend is usually the determining date, but even if you contact the commercial operators directly they will usually tell you straight.
There has been bad blood between our two industries for years, and it seems this year has been the worst yet because of a thin snowpack, and quest to find fresh snow.
Just a little food for thought.
Have fun out there, and in a week or two there is nothing that can hold us back!!!!
Muah muah muah muah muaaaaaah!
