FULL SUPPORT FILM FESTIVAL 2025 RECAP

The stoke was high last night at Revelstoke’s historic Roxy Theatre as sledders, filmmakers, athletes, and die-hard fans poured in from across Canada and the U.S. for a completely sold-out Mountain Sledder Film Festival. As the crowds started to roll into the theatre you could feel the energy in the room.

They didn’t just come for entertainment.
They came for connection.
For community.
For the comeback of sled cinema.

What started as a simple spark – let’s support our athletes doing what they do best – has grown into an industry-wide movement. An event that reminds us what truly matters: coming together, backing our athletes, and kicking off the 25/26 season with nothing but high stoke.

Fueled by unreal storytelling and the FULL SUPPORT of the sled community who showed up big, this night became a true celebration of what the mountain community can do when it rallies together, especially in support of an athlete like Brett Turcotte, as he charges toward his X Games return this coming January.

This year’s festival was made possible by a powerhouse lineup of supporters:
Polaris, Backwoods Bumper, 509 Inc., Cheetah Snow, Ohlins, Deviant Ink, Mountain Motorsports, Outlaw Motorsports, Stoked Mountain Adventures, Mountain Lab Gear, and BCSF, Tourism Revelstoke

They didn’t just sponsor the night – they helped ignite it.

A Revival of Sled Films, and a Stage for Creators

Last night marked a powerful return for sled films, a space where athletes and creators could showcase their work on the big screen again. The crowd cheered not only for the riding, but for the passion behind every frame.

Athlete Chase Masson said: “What made the night special wasn’t just the films (though the premieres were unreal). It was the feeling of bringing everyone back together under one roof, cheering for the same big sends, huge whips, deep days, and wild moments that make this sport so addictive. The theatre was buzzing, laughs, applause, gasps, and that electric vibe you only get when a bunch of sledders gather to watch their world come alive on the big screen. Movie premieres are back, the hype is back, and the sledding community is more alive than ever.

Festival Highlights

Brett Turcotte’s That’s Sleddin’

The crowd roared with support to see Brett’s NEVER BEEN DONE, BACKCOUNTRY KOD FLIP in his film, but if you ask him – he’d say the highlight of his film was hanging out with his friends.

Rooster Tail’s Heart-Pounding Feature

Rooster Tail delivered an absolute heater – an adrenaline-loaded ride that had the entire crowd leaning forward. But the moment still echoing through conversations?

The Avalanche Clip.
The theatre went silent.
Raw, real, and a reminder of the true risks that lie in the backcountry.

Ty D’s Deep Lines

Intentional from the first shot to the last, Ty D’s film showcased vision, precision, and deep creativity. Every line was chosen with purpose.

Caleb’s Masterpiece – Film of the Year

Caleb stunned the room with a film so cohesive and emotionally charged. It was only fitting that it was crowned Film of the Year on the spot. It isn’t just a sled film. It was cinema.

The Mountain Sledder Film Festival set a new standard for what this community can create together, reminding us that when we unite, the mountains aren’t the only things that come alive.
