Nick Woods’ Favourite Zone

Hey, What’s up Sleddermag.com, Nick Woods here.

Wow, is it ever nice seeing all that powder pounding down all over BC’s mountains, and with no signs of letting up! This is definitely keeping the stoke level high here on the Coast Mountains, and I’m sure everyone is feeling extra spoiled after having a season like last year’s.

Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite zones here in Whistler, called Area-51. This little area really has it all, from jibs littered everywhere to 80-foot drops, long descents, some really tech tight tree lines, to gully runs, and turbo hillclimbs and chutes. I think there is no better place to be, especially when the snow is fresh and the sun is shining. Some of my best days, “the ones we live for” have been in this big kids’ playground!

With all that being said, I would love to share the exact location, but it’s still one of our local’s zones with not much sled traffic. When I was showed the zone a few seasons back, I was told not to show too many people, because you all know what happens to zones when they get over-populated. But if you’re one of those lucky people that shreds this zone, I’m sure I’ll see you up there!

Well I’m going to get back out there! I wish everyone a safe and exciting ride out in your favorite zones!
