2024 Yamaha Mountain Snowmobiles
Yamaha has revealed their lineup of 2024 Yamaha snowmobiles, so let’s take a look at what is offered in the mountain segment for next year.
2024 Yamaha Mountain Snowmobiles
Yamaha is largely staying the course for its snowmobiles offerings for MY24. Part of that is due to ongoing issues that continue to impact production and delivery timelines.
Who would have thought that more than three years later we’d still be dealing with the aftermath of the situation that shall not be named? But all vehicle manufacturing continues to be affected.
Such as it is, Yamaha’s number one objective is to deliver all sleds in time for the Winter 2024 riding season. That means few changes to the lineup and a focus on their ‘Spring Power Surge’ sales period, to help get an early handle on demand. This is especially true for the mountain segment, which will feature the same three full-sized mountain sleds we’ve seen now for the past couple of years, in a strikingly similar colourway.
The mid-sized mountain model, SXVenom MTN, does however receive a few key updates.
In general, Yamaha reports that sales have been good, with the brand selling out at Spring Power Surge each year. This winter, Yamaha even added a little extra production to try and deliver to some customers who missed out at SPS last spring.
As for their manufacturing partnership relations, Yamaha tells us that those remain positive for long term as they work together on plans to roll out new product in the future.
For now, manufacturing partner Arctic Cat’s new platform is primarily a two-stroke platform, so it will not be found in the model year 2024 Yamaha snowmobiles lineup.
Here are the details on the 2024 Yamaha mountain snowmobiles!

2024 Mountain Max LE 154 SL
We’ll start with the Yamaha mountain sled that we’re most excited about, and that is the Mountain Max 800 LE 154 SL model.
This is the ‘Super Lite’ version of the Mountain Max LE, and it ticks a few extra boxes for us including a 6.8 kg (15 lb) lighter weight and a 154″ x 15″ x 3″ track. It’s more purely performance oriented than the Mountain Max 800 LE models, focusing on weight reduction over luxuries like electric start and more storage.

2024 Mountain Max LE 165 & 154
The Mountain Max LE 165 and 154 models are the bread-and-butter mountain sleds for Yamaha. They are available in two track options: 154″ x 15″ x 2.6″ and 165″ x 15″ x 3″ tracks.

2024 Yamaha SXVenom MTN
The 2024 Yamaha SXVenom MTN features some key changes to the model.
First and foremost is a move to a 36″ ski stance (MY23 and earlier models featured a 38″ ski stance).
For a mountain sled, this is a welcome update that will make the sled much more manoeuvrable and agile in off-trail terrain—without unduly affecting trail performance. Burgeoning off-trail riders will really benefit from this, especially those for whom the sled is purposefully built—newer, younger, smaller and less experienced riders.
The 2024 SXVenom MTN has two other key changes inspired by the Mountain Max 154 SL model.
First of these is a short mountain seat, which in addition to shaving some weight, will allow active riders to easily hop around from running board to running board.
Second, is a smaller and shorter 39 L (10.4 gal.) fuel tank. The smaller tank is lighter and its smaller size has no negative impact on usefulness of the sled because it’s going to be pretty difficult to empty a full-sized fuel tank with a half-sized engine in a day’s ride.

- NEW Ice Blue & Redline colourway (very nice!)
- 7/8th size snowmobile
- 397 cc 2-stroke engine

- Liquid cooled with U-style rear cooler

Snoscoot
The Snoscoot is not a mountain sled, but it’s one that mountain riders might be looking at for their future shredder offspring, so we thought we’d include it.
There are no changes to the Snoscoot for MY24, but it does come with a pretty cool retro 80s graphic package option for 2024!
Specifications:
- Team Yamaha Blue, White, Mint colourway OR
- White, Jetstream Blue & Black colourway

2024 Yamaha Snowmobiles
So that’s it for 2024 Yamaha mountain snowmobiles. Remember, if you’re wanting to get into a MY24 full-sized deep snow Mountain Max model, they’re all spring check only, so you’ve got to get your order placed early.
SXVenom MTN and Snoscoot sleds are not technically LE sleds limited to spring orders only, but these are known to sell out quickly, so best to think twice about waiting if you’re in the market for one of these sleds.
Canadians can place orders through their Yamaha dealer and riders from the U.S. can place orders online.
