Camso Issues DTS 129 Recall Due to Crash and Impact Hazards

Camso has issued a DTS 129 recall for its products made in model year 2017 (MY2017). The issue stems from a number of reports of brake malfunction on the dirt-to-snow bike conversion kit. The pin which secured the brake pads can loosen, causing a crash or impact hazard. No injuries have been reported as a result of the issue.

This recall involves model year 2017 Camso DTS 129 kits that are used to convert off road motorcycles or dirt bikes to track and ski vehicles. The kits have a serial number starting with 9025IUEXXXX located on the front right side of the undercarriage. DTS 129 and the Camso logo are printed on the side of the product.

Hazard

The pin that secures the brake pads can loosen, posing a crash or impact hazard.

Remedy

Consumer should immediately stop using bikes with the recalled conversion kits and contact an authorized Camso dealer for a free repair.

About 280 units in the United States and 316 sold in Canada are affected by the recall.

Incidents/Injuries

Camso has received 17 reports involving the DTS 129 brake systems not functioning correctly. No injuries have been reported.

 

 

How this will affect the Camso DTS 129 product partnership with Yamaha and their WR450F is unknown. Voluntary recall with Transport Canada.
