Dave Treadway Remembered

With sadness, we say goodbye to Dave Treadway.

Dave was a freeskier, sledder, adventurous soul and family man who was well-known and loved in the community of backcountry enthusiasts in Western Canada. Dave passed away on April 15, 2019 as a result of a fall into a crevasse while backcountry skiing near Pemberton, BC.

He is best known for his ever-present positivity, his freeskiing achievements and, most recently alongside his wife Tessa, for raising a young family with an unconventional passion for living.

The Treadways are a sledding family, and Dave regularly used his sled for access to his adventures in the remote mountains of British Columbia.

Dave is survived by his wife Tessa, their two young sons and an unborn child.

RIP Dave Treadway.

Your spirit will live on in every one of us who finds joy in exploring the mountains.

Those who would like to support Dave’s family in the wake of this tragic accident may do so at the GoFundMe page in Support of the Treadway Family here.
