Revelstoke Vintage Ride and Poker Run March 5!
Time to shine up those vintage sleds (or just ride something newer—no one’s judging) for Revelstoke Snowmobile Club’s Vintage Ride and Poker Run this Saturday, March 5, 2022, on Boulder Mountain. It will be a fun event for all snowmobilers!
While the historic snowmobile club has organized many vintage rides in the past, they’re looking to bring it back this year and build on the success of the past with some new activities.

This year’s event will include not only vintage sleds on display, but a poker run up to the Boulder cabin that all riders can participate in. Registration will take place at the RSC Welcome Centre at the base of Boulder Mountain at 9 am PST, and the poker run will finish up at the Boulder Cabin. Riders can buy pokers hands at the Welcome Centre for $10 each or 3 for $25.
There’s also a chance of taking home a sweet cash prize in a 50/50 draw. If there are any Edmonton Oilers fans in attendance, you know that 50/50 prize pot is going to stack up! There is also over $3000 worth of prizes and giveaways on hand.
The club will ensure that trails are in top-notch condition on the way up to the cabin for all event goers, especially those riding old sleds with vintage suspension travel!
For that reason, on the day of the event, the Kirkup Trail will be open to vintage sleds only (and families traveling to the cabin for the event). Other event goers, participants and the riding public in general will be asked to travel up the mountain on one of the other trails in order to help preserve the Kirkup for those riding old, ‘suspension-challenged’ iron.

RSC Vintage Ride Boulder Cabin Activities
Up at the cabin, the activities will continue with some exhibition riding action. In the meadows adjacent to the cabin, RSC has prepared both a drag strip and an oval track for some informal and fun vintage exhibition action. These are not timed events, but a fun way to relive the “hair straight back” glory of yesteryear. Mullets and hockey hair are optional, but highly recommended.
To keep energy levels high between exhibitions, there will be a couple of hour-long sets of live music by a local group, pumping from the Boulder cabin deck.

The venue—just picture hot food, live music and more good-time-havin’ people.
The club will also be putting on a BBQ lunch at noon, with the help of Zala’s Restaurant owner, Mike, who has flown back from Arizona just to help out at the event! He and friends will be slinging burgers from the Boulder Cabin, along with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Bring cash if you want to chow down on some hot lunch! The Poker Run winners will be announced at lunchtime.
From noon to 1 pm will be the Vintage Sled Show and Shine. There will be special mentions for extraordinary participation such as the oldest rider, oldest sled, youngest rider and the overall favourite vintage sled (by vote).
Once the Vintage Sled Show and Shine winds down, the exhibition action will heat up from 1 pm to 3 pm. In addition to the drag strip and oval track action, there will be a snow bike exhibition put on by X Games gold medalist and multi-sport athlete, Brock Hoyer.

Brock Hoyer is no stranger to riding in the Revelstoke area.
Revelstoke Snowmobile Club Vintage Ride
Attendance at the Revelstoke Annual Vintage Ride and Poker Run is free. Riders are only required to pay the usual $25 daily trail use fee, which is free for members of the club. Vintage sleds are free and so are passengers.
But be sure to bring some cash if you want to participate in the poker run, 50/50 draw or grab some hot lunch up at the cabin to keep you going, and to support the club.
This event promises to be a lot of fun and one you won’t want to miss! Registration for the poker run starts at 9 am PST at the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club Welcome Centre at the Boulder Mountain trailhead.
Have fun!
